The Cristom Immersion

Defining Land, Stewardship & Craftsmanship

Step beyond the tasting room and into the heart of our 240-acre Estate with this immersion experience, designed to bring you closer to the land and the philosophy behind our wines. Meet our grazing flock of sheep and pigs, stroll through seasonal food gardens, and ascend the hillside by vehicle with stops to explore the vineyards, touch ancient volcanic boulders, and peer into soil pits that reveal 14- to 15-million-year-old volcanic basalt flows. This private, comprehensive tour and tasting offers a rare opportunity to connect the land to the wines through a guided tasting of five notable Cristom Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, while experiencing the care and vision of our second-generation family winery and 32-year legacy of world-class winegrowing.

The Cristom Excursion

Explore the estate vineyards and wines

Start your wine country expedition with this unique opportunity to enjoy a moderate hike (1.3 miles) through three of our world-class vineyards and learn how the land plays a leading role in crafting our acclaimed wines.

Take in the beautiful biodiversity of our winegrowing estate and working farm while learning about our biodynamic, organic, and regenerative farming practices. After hiking through Louise, Marjorie, and Jessie Vineyards, we’ll settle at picnic tables in Jessie Grove to taste the single vineyard Louise Chardonnay and Marjorie and Jessie Pinot Noir from the sites explored. We’ll discuss how the unique volcanic soils, range of elevations and aspects, clonal diversity, and climate factors in these vineyards result in distinctive wines.

This experience includes a dedicated host, vineyard/viticulture education, and tasting of three estate-grown, single vineyard wines.

Please allow 1 hour 45 minutes for this experience. Hiking apparel is recommended: sturdy shoes, such as hiking boots or sneakers for uneven terrain, breathable clothing, sun hat, sunscreen, and water bottle.

We expect to host this experience seasonally from April to October on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 am, however, we are a working vineyard which may limit the availability of excursions.

This was our very first winery during our trip to Oregon, and it was an amazing introduction to Oregon wines. We left with several bottles to enjoy back home.

We are so happy we stopped at Cristom. The people are very friendly, the location is beautiful, and the wines are excellent. We joined their wine club and look forward to enjoying their wine for a long time.
