Lady Louise Winter Spritzer Cocktail
Ingredients
Rainbow Peppercorn Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- ⅓ cup rainbow peppercorn mix
Cocktail
- 2 oz Louise Vineyard Pinot Gris, chilled*
- 0.75 oz rainbow peppercorn syrup
- 0.75oz grapefruit juice, fresh-squeezed
- 0.5oz lime juice, fresh-squeezed
- Ice cubes
- Sparkling water
- Grapefruit wedge or peel, optional garnish
*If preferred, substitute 1 oz (of 2 oz) of the Pinot Gris for 1 oz gin (preferably London Dry gin)
Directions
Rainbow Peppercorn Syrup
- Bring the water, sugar, and whole rainbow peppercorns to a full boil and let the mixture bubble up.
- Stir for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Strain out the peppercorn. Pour syrup into a clean glass jar.
It keeps in the fridge for 2 weeks.
Cocktail
- Add the Pinot Gris (gin optional), rainbow peppercorn syrup, fresh grapefruit juice, and fresh lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Shake.
- Strain the liquid into a tall glass over ice.
- Top with sparkling water.
- Garnish with a grapefruit wedge or grapefruit peel.
